New IBPS CRP RRB 2024 Exam Pattern and Syllabus

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has released the updated exam pattern for the Common Recruitment Process for Regional Rural Banks (CRP RRB) for the year 2024. This examination is a gateway for candidates aiming to secure positions such as Office Assistants (Multipurpose) and Officer Scale I, II, and III in Regional Rural Banks across India. The examination is conducted in three stages: Preliminary (Prelims), Main, and Interview (for Officers Scale I, II, and III).

Exam Pattern

1. Preliminary Examination

The preliminary exam is the first stage of selection and is applicable to Office Assistants (Multipurpose) and Officer Scale I. The exam pattern for these two positions is as follows:

Office Assistant (Multipurpose) and Officer Scale I:

  • Reasoning: 40 questions, 40 marks
  • Numerical Ability (for Office Assistants) / Quantitative Aptitude (for Officer Scale I): 40 questions, 40 marks

Total: 80 questions, 80 marks, 45 minutes duration

2. Main Examination

The main examination differs based on the position applied for:

Office Assistant (Multipurpose):

  • Reasoning: 40 questions, 50 marks
  • Computer Knowledge: 40 questions, 20 marks
  • General Awareness: 40 questions, 40 marks
  • English Language / Hindi Language: 40 questions, 40 marks
  • Numerical Ability: 40 questions, 50 marks

Total: 200 questions, 200 marks, 2 hours duration

Officer Scale I:

  • Reasoning: 40 questions, 50 marks
  • Computer Knowledge: 40 questions, 20 marks
  • General Awareness: 40 questions, 40 marks
  • English Language / Hindi Language: 40 questions, 40 marks
  • Quantitative Aptitude: 40 questions, 50 marks

Total: 200 questions, 200 marks, 2 hours duration

Officer Scale II (General Banking Officer):

  • Reasoning: 40 questions, 50 marks
  • Computer Knowledge: 40 questions, 20 marks
  • Financial Awareness: 40 questions, 40 marks
  • English Language / Hindi Language: 40 questions, 40 marks
  • Quantitative Aptitude & Data Interpretation: 40 questions, 50 marks

Total: 200 questions, 200 marks, 2 hours duration

Officer Scale II (Specialist Cadre):

  • Reasoning: 40 questions, 40 marks
  • Computer Knowledge: 40 questions, 20 marks
  • Financial Awareness: 40 questions, 40 marks
  • English Language / Hindi Language: 40 questions, 20 marks
  • Quantitative Aptitude & Data Interpretation: 40 questions, 40 marks
  • Professional Knowledge: 40 questions, 40 marks

Total: 240 questions, 200 marks, 2 hours 30 minutes duration

Officer Scale III:

  • Reasoning: 40 questions, 50 marks
  • Computer Knowledge: 40 questions, 20 marks
  • Financial Awareness: 40 questions, 40 marks
  • English Language / Hindi Language: 40 questions, 40 marks
  • Quantitative Aptitude & Data Interpretation: 40 questions, 50 marks

Total: 200 questions, 200 marks, 2 hours duration

3. Interview

Candidates applying for Officer Scale I, II, and III who clear the main examination will be shortlisted for the interview. The interview is conducted by the Nodal Regional Rural Banks with the help of NABARD and IBPS in consultation with the appropriate authority. The interview carries 100 marks and the minimum qualifying marks/scores in the interview for Officers Scale I, II, and III are 40% (35% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates). The weightage (ratio) of the online main exam and interview will be 80:20 respectively.
